Roz and Matt's IfNotNow Fundraiser
Recently, we have become involved with IfNotNow - a movement of young American Jews resisting anti-semitism and fighting for freedom and dignity for all Palestinians and Israelis. IfNotNow is grounded in the belief that the liberation of Jews is bound up with other oppressed groups, both in this country and in Israel/Palestine.
We decided to set up this page together. We've been friends for a few years, and we go on long walks around Jamaica Pond, make art, and also support IfNotNow together!We are asking the mainstream American Jewish establishment to end its support of the Trump agenda and the occupation and are proving to them that they don't represent us.
On March 26, we are participating in the largest demonstration of #JewishResistance in a generation: we are joining thousands of other Jews in D.C. at the annual AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) conference.
As we say in IfNotNow: "We will be the moral leaders theJewish establishment refuses to be." So while members of the Trump administration will be inside the AIPAC conference . . .we'll be outside, and if you want to join us, we'd love to be there with you! We can’t make any of this happen without the support of our friends and family. We have pledged to raise $500 to support folks from around the country to get to D.C. for this powerful action, and we have already committed $144 ourselves.
We are asking you to consider contributing $72, the cost for one person to attend the AIPAC. Any amount you are able to give is welcome!
Either way, we want to be in conversation with you about this. We recognize that people have many feelings and perspectives aboutIsrael/Palestine and would love to talk!
