In less than 20 years, Democrats have gone from holding 13 Senate seats in the most rural states to just 3.

We have seen political spending go up and up, while the map has gotten smaller and smaller. We’re competing in just enough places to have a path to victory if we’re successful 95% of the time. As the kids say, that math doesn’t math. We can’t write off half the map and expect to have a path to a functional majority. 

We cannot regain a functional majority without expanding the map and we cannot expand the map without rural voters.
