UPDATE: We will be holding a virtual race from Friday, August 14 to Tuesday, August 18! You can choose one of our three race options: 1 Mile, 4.23 Miles, or 8.46 Miles, and run any of the given dates. The entrance fee for all races is $5. All funds will go to Fair Fight. The winners of each division will also receive a $15 Amazon gift card.
Thank you for visiting our page and we truly appreciate your interest in helping fight our country’s systemic racism. We are passionate about seeing the United State’s said values of equality and true representation, be realized for all Americans. We see an opportunity as the country’s youth to help push us in the right direction and need your help.
We, through collaboration with our partner Fair Fight, are committed to seeing social change through the fight for equal voting access. The subtle discrimination in the ballots is a central issue in systemic racism’s modern day form. Despite the 55 years since the Voting Rights Act, issues with voter registration, ballot access, and miscounted votes, have all resulted in catastrophic effects for the Black Community.
We need to do something now or our failure is indicative of a willingness to accept half-justice. Voting rights are essential to the integrity of our democracy and inaction in the face of this injustice is a rejection of the rights we cherish to Americans of Color. This moment needs to be utilized for change.
There is hope. Through Fair Fight we are envisioning a future where People of Color’s voices and opinions are realistically represented in our local and federal elections.
Hadley, Kol, Quentin, and Max are running 8.46 miles at different dates across the summer to raise money for Fair Fight. Each of us will run this distance a minimum of eight times and believe through our fundraising we can bring much needed attention to voting inequality and more importantly we know your money will directly make an impact on the realization of true equality.
