Standing up for public education, balancing budgets and navigating the many controversies in Oakland is not an easy job. But it's all worth it when we see students graduating in ever higher numbers, children having the joy of in-person schools once again, and education leaders choosing to keep working in the district they call home.
I'm willing to keep fighting for what's right here in Oakland Unified, but I can't do it without your support.
Please help me once again to build a grassroots campaign as I renew my commitment to Oakland's public schools for another four years!
Oakland limits political donations to a maximum of $600 total per person to each candidate over the course of the election. I have been a big supporter of Oakland Youth Vote and for the first time in 2024, sixteen- and seventeen-year-olds should also be able to vote in school board elections.
My campaign kick-off will be at Mother Tongue Coffee (owned by an Oakland public school family!) at 41st and Broadway on Thursday, Dec. 21 from 4:30-5:30.
Please join us there and spread the word!
If you are only RSVPing for the event at this time, please make a token donation of $1 so we know to expect you.
