Jennifer Samuels

Public School Educator and Mom to fight For Maricopa County Schools

Goal thermometer

Fighting for the best interests of Arizona’s students and teachers is neither Republican nor Democrat—it’s what we the people demand of our elected officials. A public school teacher running for Maricopa County Superintendent, Jennifer Samuels will advocate for the more than 700,000 students who learn in our system of 58 school districts.

Born and raised in Maricopa County, Jennifer is a 7th and 8th grade English teacher and former Athletic Director in North Phoenix. During the last eight years, she has worked in Arizona public schools as a general and special education teacher as well as a parent volunteer and PTA Board Member. She has a Masters in Education in the area of Special Education and is pursuing a second Masters in Education in the area of Educational Leadership.

Jennifer also has a background in the financial services industry. Having worked in marketing and branch operations for the Arizona Federal Credit Union, she earned a Masters in Organizational Leadership and currently serves on Arizona Federal's Board of Directors as an advocate for financial literacy programs.

As the Maricopa County Superintendent, she'll press for greater accountability for charter schools in order to protect taxpayers’ investments in education from millionaire profiteers. A bipartisan leader advocating for access to high-quality education for all students, she’ll work with the state legislature to build sustainable, long-term funding for Arizona's K-12 system, currently funded at nearly the lowest level of any state.

Jennifer and her husband, Ben, will celebrate their 14-year anniversary this summer and enjoy raising their three daughters, ages 8, 10 and 12, who attend their local public schools.
