Sarah Brand-Wiita (she/her) is a health economist and progressive political activist based in Germantown, running for reelection to Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee (MCDCC) At-Large. First elected in 2022, she is now the MCDCC's Assistant Treasurer and the Precinct Organization Chair, building and managing our core volunteer program.
What is the MCDCC?
The MCDCC is the governing body of the Montgomery County Democratic Party. They are responsible for helping to elect Democrats throughout the county and filling vacancies in the state legislature between elections.
Why Sarah?
In her next four years on the MCDCC, Sarah will:
- Continue building our network of grassroots volunteer organizers
- Create more opportunities for dialogue with underrepresented, independent, and low-propensity voters--year-round, not just when we're asking for their vote
- Collaborate with the Maryland Democratic Party to get out the vote and elect Democrats
- Support development of low-dollar fundraising initatives
- Prioritize the needs and voices of marginalized communities
