A recent Associated Press headline says it all:
"GOP looks for veto-proof majorities in Wisconsin Legislature"
A veto-proof supermajority would be the ultimate power grab for Robin Vos, who has grown increasingly frustrated with the governor's veto pen.
Governor Evers vetoed 146 bills during his first term in office. With his veto pen, the governor blocked extreme legislation to further interfere with access to reproductive health care, to limit absentee voting, and to make it easier to carry a concealed gun - and these are just a few examples of the regressive measures he stopped from becoming law.
We cannot afford to go backward. Much of the Governor's power is in his veto pen, and it is up to us to ensure he maintains it.
