Patti O'Neil, Maricopa County Democratic Party Chair
Ballot guides are proven to increase down ballot voting, a critical need in swing districts within Maricopa County, Arizona.
Patti O'Neil, the terrific Chair of the Maricopa County Democratic Party has asked for help raising $30,000 for their Turnout Improvement Project. Arizona gave Biden the win in 2020 by just about 10,000 votes; and he beat Trump in Maricopa County by some 45,000 votes. Still, in Arizona's bluest districts upwards of 90,000 Democratic and Democratic leaning voters did not vote in 2020. This Project aiims to get those voters back to the polls. The Maricopa County Democratic Party will mail ballot guides and slate cards to 30,000 voters who are inaccessible behind doors of apartment complexes and other obstacles. The guides introduce voters to all of the local and national Democrats who will be on their ballot, and the slates are a list of Democrats that voters can keep handy. Guides and slates will also be available for tabling events and canvassing. Data analysis in Maricopa has demonstrated that slate cards increase Democratic voter turnout even in deep red districts. Donate directly to the Maricopa County Democratic Party here to help get votes off of the table and into the ballot box.
