South Bay Youth Changemakers

Join SBYC in Cultivating Our Garden!

This year has been challenging for the world and for our youth members at South Bay Youth Changemakers. Three years into the pandemic, and we’ve seen our government drop public health guidelines that ensure the most vulnerable in our communities are safe. Some of our elected officials are invested in stripping away our fundamental rights, all while selling our futures to the fossil fuel industry.

And as our future grows more precarious, our young people continue to be excluded from decision making processes that have deep impacts for the rest of their lives. In the face of all this uncertainty, SBYC is building Asian American youth power to take back control of our futures and fight for racial and economic justice.

For the past 3 years, SBYC has been growing our roots to build Asian American youth power. Now that we have a solid foundation, we are ready to cultivate our garden to nourish our community! SBYC has a goal of raising $20,000 by November 22nd. Every dollar we raise will go towards growing the connections and skills of our Asian American youth to organize across the South Bay. Will you join us in building Asian American youth power in the South Bay?

Here are some meaningful amounts to celebrate the progress we've made:

  • $30 for the 3 staff supporting our youth and growing our organization
  • $46 for the 46 youth who have participated in our summer programs, the next generation of youth leaders
  • $80 for 8 of the 11 South Bay high school districts represented in our membership
  • $120 for the 12 youth in our action research team
  • $240 for the 24 alumni who have graduated from our programs
  • $600 for the 60+ youth who have been part of our various programs
  • $1250 for the number of surveys our youth are collecting from high school students in the South Bay
