Scientists for Sam Wang

Sam Wang is a professor of neuroscience at Princeton. He's running to represent New Jersey's 12th Congressional District to halt the damage to our nation’s laws and principles - and rebuild U.S. science.

Sam's a working scientist. His research lab studies the biology of autism. His lab developed a way to use AI and smartphones to diagnose and measure autism remotely, leading to the founding of a company whose work can help families diagnose autism earlier.

Federal support has powered Sam's fundamental discoveries - and those of scientists all over the nation. But now all of that is at risk. The federal government is undermining higher education, attacking academic freedom and international scholars, and interfering with research funding. Sam spent a year working for the Senate Committee on Labor and Human Resources, where he learned how to translate science into practical action. In returning to Congress, he will bring his experience to protect scholars and restore U.S. science.

Sam is also a well-known democracy reformer. He's defended ranked-choice voting in Maine, opened the playing field for newcomers in New Jersey, and fought gerrymandering nationwide. More than any candidate running anywhere, Sam knows how election systems can make it impossible for commonsense ideas to carry the day. He will become a national figure for reform.
