Senator Scott Wiener represents San Francisco and northern San Mateo County in the California State Senate. He works extremely hard for our community, having passed 87 bills that have been signed into law since he took office in 2016.
In the State Senate, he focuses on the issues of greatest significance in Senate District 11, including increasing the availability and affordability of housing; ensuring our public transportation systems are stably funded, safe, and reliable; creating pathways to exit homelessness; expanding access to mental health and addiction treatment, and health care generally; tackling the existential climate crisis; increasing legal protections for LGBTQ people, immigrants, and other marginalized communities; reforming our broken criminal justice system and improving public safety; and reducing poverty.
