Robert Reich here. The Supreme Court just eviscerated the Voting Rights Act, but we're going to do something about it. Can you chip in today to help?

The Supreme Court's right-wing super-majority just effectively gutted Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act and cleared the way for states to dramatically dilute the political representation of Black and brown voters in Congress.

The immediate effect of this ruling will be to allow Republicans to snatch five or more new congressional seats in the midterm elections through last-minute gerrymanders in Louisiana, Florida, and possibly other states.

In future cycles, Republicans may be able to flip more than a dozen seats currently held by Democratic representatives—the vast majority of whom are Black.

There's no sugar-coating it. This is a massive blow to voting rights. And it comes on top of a barrage of voter suppression efforts by Donald Trump, his administration, and his MAGA loyalists in Congress, including attacks on mail-in voting, threats of ICE agents stationed at the polls, and the SAVE Act, which could disenfranchise 21 million Americans.

But the Inequality Media Civic Action team has a plan to fight back. We're going to channel the outrage over these attacks on voting rights to drive the biggest blue wave election turnout we've ever seen.

We've already put together a plan for our biggest midterm voter education effort ever. We're going to launch a multi-pronged campaign to defend our free and fair elections and take back control of the House and Senate this November.

But we need your help today, so we can execute the most ambitious version of our plan. We're doing this timely work while we continue to produce original content to reach and inform our 22 million-strong following on social media about many of the other issues impacting America and the world. Our small team is dedicated, creative, and hardworking, but we can't do it all if we don't have your support.

So, please, chip in any amount to help IMCA educate the public and make this fall's midterms the biggest blue wave election ever.
