A Seat At the Table for All Kent County Residents

I'm Scott Urbanowski. Like you, I wear several hats: engaged citizen, digital media business owner, community servant, union member, and more. Now, I'm running to wear another hat: Kent County Commissioner.

Here's a sampling of what I'll bring to the County Commission:

  • Perspective. Having lived below the poverty line, my perspective will help make the County more responsive to residents who struggle to make ends meet.
  • Ideas. I'm running on the most detailed and comprehensive platform of any candidate in this race.
  • Commitment. I don't just talk about issues – I’ve worked to solve them in both my professional and personal life. Over the years, I’ve worked on many projects meant to alleviate poverty, protect our environment, and honor our veterans. I'm also the only candidate who is using both local and union printing services for my campaign.
  • Innovation. The needs of Kent County residents and their government are constantly changing. The phrase “we’ve always done it this way” just won’t cut it for me.
  • Involvement. I am involved with Grand Rapids Young Professionals, Local First of West Michigan, the West Michigan Environmental Action Council, Kentwood Band and Orchestra Boosters, and Friends of the Kentwood Library, among others.
  • Leadership. As the head of West Michigan's largest council of the Knights of Columbus, I balanced the council's budget and increased its charitable support during the worst of the recession.
  • Residency. I've lived in the 12th district for 28 years - the longest residency of any candidate in this race.

Your generous donation will help get our vision for an inclusive County to residents across the 12th district. Chip in now.
