Campaign for Southern Equality

Support the SC United for Justice & Equality Coalition

In South Carolina, we’re facing an onslaught of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation – and some extreme lawmakers in Columbia will do everything in their power to force through dangerous bills attacking queer youth and thousands of LGBTQ+ families.

Tens of thousands of South Carolinians have taken action with the SC United for Justice & Equality coalition in 2023 – thank you. Despite the majority of our state supporting LGBTQ+ equality, extremist lawmakers are planning to pass these bills in 2024, and we need to be ready to protect our progress. That means hiring more rapid response organizers in key regions across the state so they can put pressure on lawmakers when and where it will matter most. If our opponents think we’re going down without a fight, they better think again.

Our plan will only work if we have the resources to fight back against the well-funded and well-organized anti-LGBTQ+ movement. Please, pitch in a donation to support this work.

SC United for Justice & Equality envisions a South Carolina where everyone can thrive, with a focus on the lived and legal equality of LGBTQ people. The coalition advocates for the passage of legislation to protect LGBTQ community members and opposes anti-LGBTQ legislation. The coalition also works on intersecting issues of social justice, including racial justice, reproductive justice, voting rights, and health care access.
