States Win for Rockee Armstrong (AZ LD-13 House)

Dr. Racquel “Rockee” Armstrong is an assistant professor at Arizona State University, a former school administrator, and a dedicated community leader running for the State House in Arizona’s 13th District. From an early age, Rockee has been driven by a deep commitment to making a difference in her community. She chose a path in education so she could work directly with kids to break cycles of poverty through learning and opportunity. At just nine years old, Rockee got her start in politics by volunteering to knock on doors for a local city council candidate. This dedication continued through college and into adulthood, where she spent her weekends volunteering for local candidates.

Rockee is running for the Arizona State House because she knows that democracy is on the line in 2026. She is committed to ensuring that Chandler, Sun Lakes, and Gilbert have a representative who is willing to fight for commonsense legislation that puts people first.

WHY THIS RACE

Electing Rockee is one of the most critical flip opportunities for Democrats in Arizona in 2026. This seat was held by a Democrat from 2018 to 2024, but flipped by the GOP in 2024. Winning back this open seat would not only reverse a key 2024 loss, but also help secure the votes needed to protect reproductive freedom, strengthen public education, and safeguard voting rights in one of the nation’s most important swing states.

WHY ARIZONA

In the 2024 Arizona state legislative elections, Democrats faced significant headwinds and lost three seats while picking up one. Despite those challenges, Democrats have flipped key statewide offices and presidential votes in recent years. All 90 legislative seats and the governorship is up for grabs in 2026, giving Democrats a chance to shift the balance of power. Democratic victories in Arizona would help safeguard reproductive freedom, climate action, and voting rights while maintaining national momentum for the party.
