WHY THIS RACE
Lorena’s race is critical to protecting Democratic strength in the Arizona Legislature and holding the line against Republican extremism. As a champion for reproductive rights, affordable housing, and education, Lorena is exactly the kind of leader Republicans are eager to unseat. Defending this seat ensures Democrats can continue to block harmful legislation and keep fighting for equity and opportunity for Arizona families.
WHY ARIZONA
Arizona was once a reliable Republican stronghold, and although Trump reclaimed the state in 2024, Arizona is now considered as a true swing state where Democrats flipped key statewide offices and presidential votes in recent years. Heading into the 2026 midterms, control of the legislature and governorship is up for grabs. Democratic victories in Arizona means safeguarding reproductive freedom, climate action, and voting rights while maintaining momentum for Democrats at the national level.
