Representative Carol Glanville has served Michigan’s 84th House District since winning a 2022 special election and flipping her seat blue for the first time in 30 years. Since then, she has fought and delivered real results for West Michigan families, securing infrastructure funding, pushing back against attempts to cut education and health care, and working hard to help families put food on the table, send their kids to quality public schools, and access the health care they need. Now, Carol is running to flip another seat—this time State Senate District 30.
Raised in a blue-collar family, Carol learned public service from her parents. That tradition of service led her to work in education at all levels, from pre-K through adult education, and eventually to run for office. She believes that West Michigan needs leadership grounded in community, common sense, and a sense of urgency.
WHY THIS RACE
Senate District 30 is one of Democrats’ top flip opportunities in 2026 and a critical seat for protecting and expanding the party’s razor-thin majority in the chamber. In 2022, the district was decided by less than half a percentage point. It is the only district in Michigan that Vice President Harris won in 2024 that is represented by a Republican. With the state legislature currently divided, flipping SD 30 and electing Carol to the Michigan Senate is essential to maintaining a firewall against a far-right agenda and ensuring continued progress on education, health care, and affordability.
WHY MICHIGAN
In 2022, Democrats flipped the Michigan Senate for the first time in nearly 40 years, securing a governing trifecta with Governor Whitmer and the State House. That historic trifecta delivered transformative progress on voting rights, gun safety, and reproductive freedom. After Republicans reclaimed the House in 2024, the Senate became a steadfast blue wall against the MAGA agenda. With margins razor thin, every seat matters in 2026.
