Brandy Tollefson is a working mom and school board member running to flip Wisconsin State Assembly District 88. She is running to lower costs for families, expand access to affordable health care, and fight for all kids to get the education they deserve.
Brandy got her start in advocacy when extremists were trying to take over the De Pere School Board. Brandy knew her community deserved better, so she ran for the board and won. As board treasurer, she is committed to strong, smart investments in Wisconsin’s kids and is proud that De Pere was recently recognized as one of the best school districts in the state.
Brandy and her husband are proud to raise their kids in Wisconsin. In the Assembly, she’ll show up for her community every day and never stop fighting for all families.
WHY THIS RACE
Electing Brandy Tollefson would not only help Democrats break Republican control of the Assembly, but also bring a working mom, school board leader, and advocate for public education and affordable healthcare to Madison. In a state where legislative majorities will shape the future of reproductive rights, public school funding, and economic fairness, competitive suburban districts like this will determine whether Democrats can finally translate statewide support into governing power.
WHY WISCONSIN
All eyes are on Wisconsin heading into the 2026 midterms. After years of extreme Republican gerrymandering that locked in GOP control despite statewide Democratic wins, fairer maps went into effect in 2024. These maps create a real path to Democratic majorities in the legislature for the first time in over a decade. With so much at stake for reproductive freedom, public education, voting rights, and economic fairness, every seat is now in play. Winning in Wisconsin will not only decide the balance of power in Madison, but help shape the national landscape in 2026.
