Sister District for Lisa Grafstein (NC Senate 13)
Senator Lisa Grafstein is running in a newly drawn district in southern Wake County, a community that is rapidly growing and trending more Democratic. As a civil rights attorney, Lisa has fought for those who are often voiceless and will continue to govern with that in mind. Democrats must elect Lisa and pick up another seat to be able to break the GOP supermajority in the NC Senate, which has pushed through far-right policies including a new abortion ban on a party-line vote.
WHY NORTH CAROLINA IS IMPORTANT
In 2022, Democrats were able to hold off a Republican supermajority in the NC House until a member changed parties granting the Republicans complete control of the Tarheel State. We need to win one seat in the NC Senate and Lisa’s race is a must-win to accomplish that goal.
