Mercedes Evans is the daughter of a Mexican immigrant, a dedicated public servant, a community leader, and rising star in Pennsylvania politics. She previously received Second Generation’s endorsement in her successful run for Camp Hill Borough Council in 2021. Now Mercedes is running for State Representative of Pennsylvania’s 103rd District, and if elected, she would make history as the first Latino from Central Pennsylvania to hold this position.

With nearly 15 years of experience as an administrator in the public and non-profit sectors, Mercedes is well-equipped to represent the diverse needs of House District 103. As the daughter of an immigrant, Mercedes views her position as an outsider to a town of legacy families to be an asset, and that her diverse life experience can help her be of service to typically underrepresented residents. Mercedes has both advocated and voted for initiatives that will preserve the long-term sustainability of her community. Should she be elected to the state legislature, Mercedes will continue her work uniting communities and building towards a better future for all residents.
