Second Generation is proud to support Shamaine Daniels for U.S. Congress, Pennsylvania's 10th District.
Shamaine is a City Councilmember, an attorney, and a Venezuelan immigrant. She hopes to replace Republican Scott Perry, who is one of the most polarizing figures in Congress, a leading proponent of the 2020 election conspiracies, and a target in various investigations into his role in the January 6th Insurrection.
Shamaine arrived in the U.S. with her mother and two brothers when she was 13 years old. She graduated from high school in Philadelphia and earned her bachelor’s degree from West Chester University. After acquiring her law degree from the University of Cincinnati, Shamaine relocated to Harrisburg where she specialized in immigration and employment law and became active in Democratic politics. After an unsuccessful bid for Dauphin County Clerk of Courts in 2011, she won election to Harrisburg’s City Council in 2013. During her time in office, she has led the effort to help small local businesses open with less red tape and lower fees, fought for affordable housing for families, and invested in youth programs.
"Whether you came from far away to become an American, or your family has lived here for generations, America belongs to all of us." — Shamaine Daniels
