Give someone a second chance.

Second Chance Democratic Club (“SCDC”) is the first and only Democratic club dedicated to empowering those who are formerly incarcerated or justice-involved, to make their voices heard in the political and policy discourse of New York state.

Our purpose, in the words of our founder, Hon. Eddie Gibbs, the first formerly incarcerated person elected to the State Legislature, is “to create a better community for our family and our neighbors through political involvement.”

By becoming a founding donor of the SCDC, you are supporting our Community Programs and ensuring that communities are represented by one of their own.

Community Programs include:

  • Voter Enrollment Project (help us register new voters who have served their time and ready to contribute to our communities again)
  • Resource Center (we're raising funds to create a safe space for formerly incarcerated to seek resources and build community)

Support Representation by:

  • Your donation today supports the SCDC Endorsement Program which endorses candidates running for office on the Democratic party line in New York.

We are grateful for your support and can't wait to have you as a member of our team. Any contribution you make today will go a long way in ensuring that those who embrace a second chance can achieve their goals.
