My name is Selena Xie. I'm a paramedic, ICU nurse, and labor leader.
With over a decade of service as a paramedic including years stationed right here in District 8, I’ve seen firsthand how City Hall decisions affect people’s lives, not in theory, but in real time.
As President of the Austin EMS Association, I led our paramedics through the pandemic, ice storms, and the opioid crisis. I fought for real affordability so our first responders and working families can afford to live in the city they serve.
On City Council, I’ll bring that same urgency and commitment to the issues that matter most: making Austin more affordable, modernizing public safety, protecting our environment, and improving everyday services for District 8 residents. I’ve driven every street in this district, listened to neighbors at their most vulnerable moments, and earned the trust of this community one call at a time. Now I’m ready to serve District 8 in a new way, and I ask for your support.
