These are not necessarily the closest races (though they're all likely quite close). But they are the races where I think the marginal *small dollar donation* will go the furthest.
That last part is important because of a little-known FCC regulation called the "unit rule" - TV stations can only charge campaigns the cheapest rate they've charged recent non-political clients, leaving them free to heavily price-gouge party committees like the DSCC and SuperPACs.
To give an example, TV stations in Maine are currently charging SuperPACs more than 10X more per TV impression than they're charging Sarah Gideon.
Giving directly to these candidates doesn't just generate (enormously) more direct impact to these candidates, it also gives "air cover" to Democratic SuperPACs and the DSCC to put their money in larger reach states where their money will go a lot further!
