Since first taking office as Chittenden County State’s Attorney, I’ve remained focused on building a fairer, safer, and more effective justice system—one that centers recovery, accountability, and community safety over punishment and incarceration.
We’ve led the state in implementing restorative justice practices, expanding access to treatment and diversion programs, and working closely with community partners to address the root causes of harm. These efforts have made our communities stronger, safer, and more compassionate.
But this work is far from done and has never been more important. As we look ahead, we must continue to modernize our approach to public safety, strengthening community trust, supporting victims, and ensuring that every person who enters the system has a real opportunity to rebuild their life.
