Big Oil unsuccessfully spent over $3.5 million trying to defeat Stephanie in 2018 and they are already back at it again in 2022. DONATE NOW!

As the first woman, Latina, and educator to serve as New Mexico's Commissioner of Public Lands - Stephanie has been bold and delivered big environmental wins for New Mexico.

In four years, Stephanie has shattered every record at the New Mexico Land Office and implemented over 100 other 'firsts'. Some highlights:

  • Broke previous revenue records by exceeding $1 billion earned on behalf of New Mexico families, public schools, hospitals, and universities. WE'VE DONE THIS THREE YEARS IN A ROW! $3.5+ BILLION TOTAL!
  • Established the Office of Renewable Energy & TRIPLED production on state trust land.
  • Started the Enforcement & Accountability Program holding extractive industries responsible, saving taxpayers millions.
  • Created the Cultural Resources Office, first to end future development in the Greater Chaco Region, and passed the cultural properties rule to require tribal consultation and protect cultural properties.
  • Established the Office of Outdoor Recreation and implemented the first-ever dispersed camping and backpacking program.
  • Passed laws to end backroom deals, mandate public meetings, & guarantee transparency.
  • Stopped all oil and gas-related freshwater sales from state trust land and created the Water Bureau.

Stephanie is proof that leaders can restore the health of our public lands and raise record-breaking revenue by prioritizing economic diversification and renewable energy development while holding extractive industries financially accountable.
