Shawn for Stoughton Area School District Board

Hi, my name is Shawn. I’m asking for your support to help elect me to the Stoughton Area School District Board in the 2019 election cycle.

Education and learning have always been passions of mine because I feel they are the key to moving our country toward. I’m asking you to help me become a voice for your children. I want to ensure they have an advocate that will ensure that we are not just meeting state goals, but surpassing them. While math and reading are of course critical to our children’s success, we need to not forget the arts, science, and history.

We are lucky that the Stoughton area has a solid education plan, but we can do better. We together (parents, educators, and our children) can create a plan that helps our children be prepared for whatever they find a passion in. I know that not all students want to be scientists or engineers, I know that some want to make the world better by creating art, or building things. College is important, and we need to make sure our kids are prepared, but we need to acknowledge that they arts and trades are equally important.

Im here to listen to you and your children and be their voice, and you better believe I am here to ensure the teachers get the tools and respect they need to be there for our children when we can’t be.
