When I look at my own kids and the kids I work with, and when I see the news each day about the 93 individuals that die needlessly, I just can’t sit there and watch it continue. In 2016, there were 240 unintentional child shootings in the US. Through Moms Demand Action, I’ve been able to do something - a lot of things - to make our communities safer. I’ve educated parents about safe storage of guns, I’ve organized events to talk about solutions to gun violence, I’ve helped gun violence survivors share their stories.
I believe so strongly in what Moms volunteers are doing here in our community and around the country that I’ve challenged myself to raise $400 for Moms Demand Action by June 2nd - Gun Violence Awareness Day.
Will you join me in the fight against gun violence with a gift to support our gun violence prevention programs, our legislative work and our involvement with gun violence survivors?
When you give, your tax deductible donation will help support the work of Moms here and across the country. And you will have not only my gratitude, but the gratitude of Moms and survivors everywhere. And you will take action to protect people, maybe children, from senseless death or injury....
You may know that I am very passionate about this cause, and I appreciate the chance to share it with you and invite you to be part of ending gun violence, too. I’m happy to answer any questions you have, so please don’t hesitate to ask.
Thank you so much! Together we can work toward decreasing gun violence, and fight to make our futures safe ones.
Best,
Shelli
