I'm Shevrin Jones, and today I'm announcing my campaign for Congress in Florida's 24th Congressional District — one of the few majority-Black districts left anywhere in the South.

This district deserves a representative who will stand up to Donald Trump and his loyalists in Congress, and who will carry forward the legacy of strength and service that Congresswoman Frederica Wilson built here.

First and foremost, I'm a teacher who got into this because I was fed up with a system that wasn't working for regular people. That's still who I am.

But I can't get to Congress alone. We need a powerful show of support right out of the gate — to prove to donors, to the press, and to the politicians in Washington who'd love to write us off that this campaign is real.
