Gretchen Whitmer worked her way up from the Michigan State House to the Senate, where she became the first woman to head up a party caucus. In the Senate, she helped negotiate Michigan’s Medicaid expansion under the ACA. She got the minimum wage raised. She won victories on everything from infrastructure to bullying. Whitmer even made the most of a short stint as Ingham County Prosecutor (it’s a long story), setting up a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Unit, among other achievements.

She’s pro-labor, pro-gun control, pro civil rights, and pro-voting rights. She’s visited every county in the state in order to hear straight from the people what they need from their government, and she’s ready to hit the ground running.
