Jon Tester has the fewest fingers in the entire Senate Democratic Caucus, but that doesn’t stop him from serving the good people of Montana with love and distinction. He’s a farmer and a former teacher who worked his way up from the school board all the way to the dang United States Senate, not bad!
Jon’s a moderate, but he’s there when his party needs him most. He voted to pass Obamacare, and he’s voted to protect it from GOP repeal efforts. He voted for Dodd-Frank. For the stimulus bill. For repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. He doesn’t have a lot of showy, headline-making legislation, but he seizes the opportunities he sees, and he gets shit done.
And I think it’d be shame to lose Jon’s voice on the national stage. There aren’t a lot of Democrats representing rural America these days; Tester is damn good at proving our values work all over the country.
