Equal Rights Association (ERA NOW)

ERA NOW - Needed NOW more than ever!

March 28, 2024

Hello to all our wonderful associates,

ERA NOW remains dedicated to our mission to “Show up, Stand up, and Speak up for Equal Rights for All.” Thank you for supporting us since 2016! We want to take a moment to celebrate the impactful work our organization has accomplished over the past couple of years and ask you to consider a donation to continue our efforts. Contributing $28 in recognition of the ratified but not yet published 28th Amendment (ERA) to the U.S. Constitution would be a powerful next step as we embark on an Election Year! Please see the links or mailing address below to make your contribution or buy some merch.

Here’s a snapshot of what your Equal Rights Association has been doing:

  • Hosted local public awareness events:
  • March 8-31, 2024: an International Women’s Day art show co-sponsored with Arts for Vets and the Community Foundation’s Women’s Fund.
  • 2023: a Power on the Prairie event with Planned Parenthood & a banned Judy Blume book discussion.
  • 2022: a Threats to Women Series and a Ready to Run Mini Session with the ND Women’s Network, a Bans Off Our Bodies rally to protest the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade, a Jess McIntosh training for women candidates, a Post-Roe event with Feminist First Friday, Prairie Action Network, and Planned Parenthood & participation in Pride in the Park downtown Grand Forks.
  • Provided financial support:
  • to several local and statewide candidates who support the mission, vision, and principles of ERA NOW.
  • for Vote Equality’s Ruthless Vote Getter get-out-the-vote efforts across the U.S.A.!
  • to Central Dakota Forensic Nurse Examiners who help women who have been raped and sexually assaulted.
  • to PAL-ND as it advocates for better protections for reproductive rights in ND.
  • for scholarships to the We Rise conference in Bismarck.

These important efforts require time and money, and our resources are nearly depleted. ERA NOW does not charge any membership fees and our events are free, so we're counting on your support to effectively continue this critical and joyful work.

We believe in fostering civil discourse, mobilizing positive resistance to injustices and threats to our freedoms, educating and advocating, building relationships, and supporting local issues and public servants when they are in harmony with the mission, vision, and principles of ERA NOW. Together, we can continue to fight for our vision of a respectful, just, and interconnected society upheld by our core principles. Thank you for giving your time and treasure to help us realize these goals!

Sincerely,

ERA NOW Board of Directors:
