Contribute Now to take the Millionaires Tax of 2012 to the ballot!

What do Occidental Petroleum, Blue Shield, billionaire Eli Broad, Indian casinos and the California Hospital Association have in common? They are all funding an insider ballot measure that would raise taxes on every Californian.

We're fighting back with our own peoples' ballot initiative, the Millionaires Tax of 2012. The Millionaires Tax of 2012 raises taxes only on those making over $1 million and puts the new revenue ($9.5 billion the first year alone) into restoring the cuts in public education (including higher ed), public safety, support for seniors, roads, bridges and other vital services. The money goes directly to local authorities, bypassing Sacramento.

We don't have huge corporations and billionaires backing our measure because we are the people. So we need your donation to fund the collection of the hundreds of thousands of signatures needed to put the Millionaires Tax of 2012 before Californians on the November ballot. If we're on the November 2012 ballot, polls show us winning 70-30%.

Chip in to help us take the Millionaires Tax of 2012 to the ballot! The California Federation of Teachers have offered to match every dollar contributed up to $25,000, so your contribution is worth twice as much!

Please also consider contributing to Courage Campaign Issues Committee, a California-based progressive online organizing network empowering over 750,000 grassroots and netroots activists to pass the Millionaires Tax of 2012 and make California a more progressive state. Courage Campaign is powering the online tools and organizing behind the Millionaires Tax of 2012 Campaign.

Contributions to support the Millionaires Tax of 2012 initiative campaign are not tax deductible.
