About The Candidate:

Robert Emmons Jr. grew up on the Southside of Chicago and from a young age, he gained an interest in advocacy and policy work. For as long as he has been involved in politics, he has felt that the solutions to the problems facing his community in the First Congressional District of Illinois can and will be solved by the people who make up his communities. After graduating from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Robert began working for a national nonprofit, OneGoal. It was in this role where Robert got to see and be a part of the solutions to the problems facing his community.

Since working in the policy and advocacy space for almost a decade, Robert has come to feel as though his and his community’s interests have been underrepresented and poorly advocated for in Washington D.C.. As such, after consulting his friends, family, neighbors, and fellow community members, Robert has decided to announce his bid for Congressman of the First District.
