I’m Simran Riar - an urban planner, carpenter, and community organizer running for New Jersey State Senate in LD15.
I’ve lived and worked across New Jersey and seen our communities struggle with rising costs, crumbling infrastructure, and government that too often reacts late - or not at all. I’m running because people building and sustaining our communities deserve a government that works just as hard as they do.
Development That Works for Our Communities
Development should strengthen neighborhoods, improve infrastructure, and create opportunity - not hand out decades-long tax abatements while residents suffer the consequences. I will fight for responsible growth that benefits the people already living and working here.
Healthcare for Every New Jerseyan
I spent my time self-employed as a carpenter hoping I wouldn't get hurt on the job. No one’s access to healthcare should disappear because they lose a job, change careers, or start a business.
Protecting Families from Federal Overreach
My mother was deported shortly before the 2008 economic crash. Nearly 20 years later, children are still waking up to missing parents while federal agents tear working families apart. We must protect residents, demand transparency, and prohibit reckless endangerment that puts our communities at risk.
We're going to do better.
Together we can build a stronger, safer, and more affordable New Jersey.
Donate today and help us get there.
