This November, Virginia’s elections will be the first big test for Democrats since winning the Senate and the White House. Swing Left is focused on protecting the trifecta that Democrats won in Virginia in 2019, so we can continue making progress in Virginia while we build momentum for Democrats going into the 2022 midterms. 

Preserving the Democratic trifecta in Virginia is key to moving forward on progressive policies, from expanded voting access to substantial criminal justice reform. Since flipping blue, Virginia became the first southern state to abolish the death penalty and pass an LGBTQ+ nondiscrimination bill. The state has also legalized recreational marijuana, repealed harmful abortion restrictions, and implemented sensible gun safety reforms.
