State legislative races are won by the barest of margins, which means every dollar counts. Democrats have a real chance to win the Texas House this year, which allows them to have a say in redistricting Federal House seats in Texas, along with fighting to pass legislation addressing issues such as healthcare and criminal justice. The problem: funding is really low in some races for democrats. The methodology behind this list is identifying the highest impact donations to flip seats, considering a combination of current money raised (lower $ takes priority, as the marginal dollar can really help) and closeness of the race. Everything on this list except TX-HD-108 is a tossup, lean R, or likely R - the incumbents in lean D or likely D seats tend to have more money, and if we’re in trouble there, the house won’t flip anyway, so might as well play offense. The list is roughly rank ordered.
