Walkout 2 Learn (April 21st, 2023) is a 501(c)(3) statewide activation organized to produce immediate tangible benefits for every participant. With over 100 high schools, every HBCU, and 90% of Florida's colleges bought-in so far, W2L is projected to be Florida's largest student-led protest of all time.
Every participant will be registered to vote through our Active Pledge, which prompts those who sign it to register immediately and sends their signature with their VR status to all of their representatives—from school board to Senate.
Afterwards, students will sit for a 5-minute government censorship policy lesson that's been created by a coalition of educators, which will be taught by trained students. Students will also be able to circumvent Governor DeSantis’ ban on the AP-level African-American history course by enrolling in our virtual, college-level African American History course (also created by our educator coalition).
After the college and high school walkouts take place, there will be off-campus rallies in Miami, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Orlando, Tampa, and St. Pete that will feature celebrity speakers and performers. The day ends with several 18+, voter-only club events hosted by celebrity partners in the same cities.
