Martin Luther King Jr. Day by remembering the impact he had on civil rights and equality for all. His peaceful protest methods, influenced by Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy of nonviolence, have resonated through history and continue to inspire us today. As South Asians, we are grateful for the doors that have been opened because of the civil rights movement, and the 1965 Voting Rights Act that made it possible for us to have a voice in the political process. Today, we celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and the progress that has been made, while also recognizing that the fight for equality is ongoing. Let us continue to work towards a more just and equitable society for all.
Celebrate in King's honor in supporting SAAVETX to protect voting rights for everyone
