I joined Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America in August 2016. We are a group of moms and other concerned citizens who are interested in having common sense gun laws and policies passed in our government to prevent gun violence in America.
We have members who are gun owners and those who aren't that believe: there should be background checks for all gun sales, convicted domestic violence offenders shouldn't own guns, gun owners should #BeSMART and store guns and ammo locked away from curious children, and guns never belong in schools and institutions of higher education.
I know people who have personally been touched by gun violence in mass shootings. Moms Demand Action provides survivor networks and empowers survivors to become leaders in the fight against gun violence. We are not anti-gun, but anti-gun violence.
Moms Demand Action is the grassroots arm of Everytown for Gun Safety in America. Everytown does remarkable research on guns and gun violence. Because of Everytown, Moms Demand Action has evidence based information to back up the programs we provide like BeSMART, Survivor Network/Engagement, and member lobbying at the local/state/national levels to advocate for common sense gun laws.
