Social Security Works

This August, we’re marking the 90th anniversary of the Social Security Act

For nearly a century, Social Security has stood strong, delivering checks in full and on time through wars, pandemics, and recessions alike.

But now, Social Security is under its greatest threat, as Donald Trump’s Republican Party seeks to dismantle the system we’ve built over the last 90 years. Wait times are growing, offices are closing, and for the first time in its history, people are not getting the checks that they’re owed.

We usually celebrate Social Security’s birthday with cake and jubilant parties. This year, we have no choice but to commemorate the anniversary with renewed resistance.

We’re planning events at Social Security offices around the country to draw attention to the grave danger that Trump’s mishandling of Social Security puts this beloved program in.

To help power events across the country on Social Security’s 90th anniversary, can you chip in $9, $90, or even $900 to make these events a success?
