Donald Trump is trying to break the Social Security Administration.
Trump and Elon Musk forced out over 7,000 trained, experienced SSA workers, and have replaced them with an automated chatbot. Now, instead of speaking with someone who can help, seniors need to navigate a glitchy automated telephone menu.
New reporting from the LA Times reveals that the Social Security Administration tested the chatbot before Trump took office, and deemed it not good enough.
