Most of West Virginia's farms are family owned. Nearly 100% of those farms are small farms. As someone who grew up on her family's farms in Tyler and Tucker Counties, Deborah Stiles knows the values rural life instills. As sole proprietor of a small (less than 100 acres) farm, Stiles also knows firsthand the challenges of making a small farm profitable. As Commissioner of Agriculture, Deborah Stiles will consult farmers large and small as well as all the many other agricultural stakeholders in the state, to protect plant and animal health, and advance the interests of agriculture.
