Protect endangered species and the Endangered Species Act

The Endangered Species Act is one of our most effective laws: it's more than 99 percent successful at preventing extinction.


Now more than ever, wildlife need strong protections. But the newly-passed Inflation Reduction Act included a "side deal" with Senator Manchin that will result in waiving the Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act, and Clean Water Act enforcement on projects on millions of acres of land and sea.


This compromise has to be blocked. We are working on Capitol Hill and within our coalition to mobilize opposition before it is attached to a must-pass funding bill this fall.
