Donald Trump and his allies are pushing to privatize the U.S. Postal Service at the exact moment it is being pushed toward a financial breaking point. The Postmaster General has warned that the USPS could run out of cash, while consultants tied to privatization efforts are being brought in behind the scenes.
Congress helped create this crisis by imposing financial restrictions that have cost the Postal Service billions and limited its ability to grow. Now those same failures are being used to justify dismantling a public institution that millions of Americans rely on every day.
Privatization would mean higher prices, worse service, and entire communities left behind. Rural areas, seniors, veterans, and small businesses would take the hardest hit as private companies focus only on what generates profit.
We have stopped Trump’s attacks on the Postal Service before through overwhelming public pressure. We can do it again, but only if we organize at scale and demand action from Congress.
Contribute to the Save the Post Office Coalition, through our host organization Americans for Financial Reform, and fund the fight to stop Trump from privatizing the USPS and protect this essential public service now.
