Maura is a former Marine Captain, Iraq War Veteran, she served as Assistant Secretary of the VA, and as a senior Pentagon Official during the Obama Administration. Maura worked her way through college at Northwestern on an ROTC scholarship and by waiting tables before being commissioned in the Marines.
She is also graduate of Harvard Business School and the Kennedy School of Government. She is a foreign policy expert, business and community leader, and a proud mom of three young children.
Maura is running for Congress because it is not enough to just elect Democrats – we need to elect the right Democrats. Leaders with the courage, grit, and experience this moment requires.
