The Sunrise Movement has been leading the way to ensure that Colorado political candidates and elected officials sign on to a Green New Deal and put climate change at the front of their campaign. We have mobilized hundreds of young people to speak at town halls, attend a climate justice training, and confront their representatives about protecting our home from polluters. As one of the most influential grassroots movements in the nation, we have set a precedent for how young people engage in democracy…and we are just getting started.
In 2026, Sunrise Denver is committed to Making Polluters Pay. We are working toward a goal of creating a well-funded climate superfund, which will charge the largest polluters in the state for climate adaptation and mitigation initiatives. Along the way, we are actively fighting for stricter and more effective regulation for AI, data centers, and the energy sectors. We demand that people are prioritized over profit.
