We are El Paso's Latine, youth-led Sunrise HUB, transitioning to "Amanecer People's Program." We aim to bring the Green New Deal to the borderland--clean energy and green jobs. Your donation can help us get there!
Our programs build on a base of activity that includes recent campaigns such as the Climate Charter (Proposition K)- a grassroots ballot initiative that sought to codify into municipal law ambitious goals that would advance climate justice in our community such as; reducing emissions, protecting our water from fossil fuel projects, and investing in renewables. The campaign gave us a platform to mobilize El Pasoans and grow a base that will continue to challenge the power and influence held by the fossil fuel industry.
We continue to be guided by equitable approaches to the climate crisis that redress the impacts of climate change that disproportionately fall on communities of color like ours. We seek to mobilize El Pasoans in favor of policies that prioritize our health, environmental integrity, racial and economic equity, restore democratic power, and work towards destabilizing the systems of power that produce climate injustice.
