We need your immediate help with an ongoing emergency affecting farmworkers in western NY!
Buffalo DSA is calling on the community to support farmworkers who were detained by ICE on their way to work at Lynn-Ette and Sons Farms on the morning of May 2nd, 2025.
The United Farmworkers (UFW) has been organizing with farmworkers at Lynn-Ette and Sons since 2022. Following a decision from the NYS public employment relations board to exclude year-round local workers from the bargaining unit, year-round workers continued to organize to win full representation with the UFW, a fair contract of their own, and for an end to constant mistreatment and labor law violations.
On May 2nd, 14 year-round workers were arrested by ICE, many of which were actively involved in the ongoing unionization drive.
Following the ICE raid, Buffalo DSA has joined the call from UFW to demand the immediate release of these farmworkers. There are currently between 7-9 workers who are looking to move forward to schedule bond hearings so that they may be reunited with their families and be released from the ICE detention center.
There is an immediate need for financial donations to help raise funds to pay for bonds to ensure that these workers may be released. A portion of these funds, if sufficient, will be allocated towards commissary accounts so that they can communicate with their families and acquire basic necessities.
Please donate now to support these farmworkers and their families.
