Thanks for taking the time to learn about my campaign for State Representative. I am running in the Democratic primary on March 18th for the 39th District, which covers the Northwest Side neighborhoods of Logan Square, Belmont Cragin, and Portage Park.As an independent, progressive Democrat, I believe that the political system in Springfield is broken, and we need new leadership to fight for good public policy that serves all our communities. Whether it's advocating for high-quality public schools, protecting the rights of women, minorities, and working people, or fighting for higher accountability and ethics standards in the public sphere, our state faces many challenges, and I believe our win in March will be an important step toward addressing them.I challenged the incumbent for this seat in the primary in 2012, and we captured 49.3% of the vote, coming only 125 votes short of winning. This cycle, our campaign is even stronger, and we are well-positioned to win the Democratic primary in March. We have built a strong grassroots campaign with 150 volunteers and over 500 donors, and we have a great opportunity to make meaningful change this March.Your contribution will help power our grassroots efforts through the final weeks of this campaign. I am deeply grateful for your support. To learn more about our campaign and where I stand on the issues, you can visit my website.
